What is an engineer?
Engineers are problem-solvers. An engineer is someone who uses science, math, and creativity to design solutions to any kind of problem. There are many types of engineers: civil engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, structural engineers, chemical engineers, aerospace engineers, and more.
For example, a civil engineer is someone who designs our infrastructure. The word “infrastructure” includes all the things that help our communities to work together, like roads, bridges, streetlights, and water pipes. That’s a big job! That is why there are many people who work together to design, build, and fix infrastructure. From designing roadways to building spaceships, engineers solve the problems of today for a better tomorrow.
