TOPOGRAPHIC MAPPING FOR SR-27 AND MISSION AVENUE INTERSECTION

Location: Spokane Valley, WA

Horrocks provided topographic base mapping using a high-definition 3D laser scanner to map the intersection of State Route 27 (SR-27) and Mission Avenue in Spokane Valley. High traffic volumes led to unsafe access into the travel lanes for field crews. Despite these challenging conditions, Horrocks successfully mapped four to five traffic lanes over approximately 1,000 feet of roadway, including the determination of existing road rights-of-way. The topographic mapping effort consisted of two field days without traffic interruptions. Horrocks’ survey team provided maps to the City of Spokane Valley within 30 days and did so within budget. The final AutoCAD deliverable, which was up to the City’s drafting standards, was also provided to City officials.
